Actions that have been happening for some time.
1) Actions in progress that started in the past and have finished by now
I’ve been running. Now I’m coming home.
There is often some evidence:
– Why are you so tired?
– I’ve been working all day.
2) Actions in progress that started in the past and are still in progress.
I’ve been swimming for an hour now.
Markers: How long…?, for…, since…, all day etc.
